4TH Annual Winter Ski & Snowboarding Trip

The 100 Black Men’s annual ski trip with youth from the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford and Future Five offered an invaluable opportunity to inspire and mentor young individuals aged 16-18. This event was about more than just skiing—it was a chance to expose these youth to new experiences, challenge their comfort zones, and show them the possibilities life holds when combined with hard work and guidance.

Between ski lifts and runs, mentors engaged in meaningful conversations with the youth, fostering camaraderie and building relationships. These discussions touched on critical topics such as mentorship, education, and career exploration, emphasizing the importance of setting goals, developing skills, and pursuing a fruitful life. By sharing personal experiences, mentors modeled resilience and success, offering the kind of support many wished they had during their adolescence.

This trip highlighted how mentorship can shape young minds by providing exposure to new environments, encouraging self-discovery, and instilling confidence. It reinforced that with guidance and effort, barriers can be overcome, and dreams can be achieved. These young individuals are the future, and investing in them now ensures they are equipped to lead fulfilling lives while contributing positively to their communities.

Looking forward to making the next one, the best one.
